In Memoriam

Carl Lacey

Carl Lacey was the cornerstone of Chaska Area Fishing with Friends, a nonprofit that he helped build not only with his hands, but with his heart. His unwavering dedication to its mission was matched only by his deep love and devotion to his family. Carl believed in the power of connection — whether it was through fishing, community service, or simply sharing a laugh — and he made it his life’s work to bring people together.

With an infectious smile, a laugh that could light up any room, and a sense of humor that stayed with you long after he walked away, Carl had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and welcomed. He had a natural ability to lift others up, to make strangers feel like friends, and to remind those around him of the simple joys in life.

Carl’s impact reached far beyond the docks and waters he loved. He mentored, encouraged, and inspired — not just through words, but through the way he lived. His generosity, kindness, and unwavering optimism left a lasting imprint on everyone he met.

He will be deeply missed — not only by his loving family, but by countless friends, fellow volunteers, and all who were lucky enough to cross his path. Carl’s legacy of laughter, compassion, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
